Softlamp by Arian Brekveld

Arian Brekveld
Softlamp, 1995

The Softlamp became the first interior design product created using the technique of dipping a heated mold into liquid plastic. Its glossy exterior gives it a ceramic-like quality, while the soft, supple texture enhances its tactile appeal. The lamp’s fluid form mirrors its creation process, with the electrical cord seamlessly flowing into the socket and blending beautifully with the lampshade. Brekveld’s striking design piece combines elegant form with practical functionality.

Softlamp has been included in the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and MoMA collections.
