Woven waffle screen by Samira Boon & NEXT Architects

Woven Waffle screen is a new step in Samira Boon’s research of 3D-weaving techniques. The waffle structure in this process is hardened with resin, which makes it one piece with the construction. This results in an ultra light room-divider with a transparent relief.

The relief has a good acoustic and a changing structure depending on the play of light. Woven Waffle screen is zipped on the non-resin parts, which makes the material function as a hinge.
