Hutten aimed to make a piece of furniture which was not constructed. In his research, he ended up with rotation moulding, for which he then made his own rotation moulding machine. He first made the ‘constructionless’ children’s chair — Hutten combined a hard and soft polyurethane of different colours. The corners are soft making it an ideal child’s chair. The pattern on the outside is the result of the rotating in the mould, and can not be controlled. Each chair therefore is unique.

Bronto Chair is in the collection of the Centraal Museum Utrecht as a part of their Droog Design collection.
