Simply Droog
date: 2004
The exhibition highlighted the topics that had been put forward by Droog over the last ten years. The history and philosophy of Droog were visualised by texts, documents, photographs, video, drawings, models and real products. The various topics were visualised in an own environment, each having a different approach and atmosphere, dependent on the theme.
Droog provided a basic installation that could travel easily and was very flexible. In this way the exhibition location could make its own contribution to the exhibition, since the exhibition’s appearance and content were changeable. It was possible to involve local designers in the installation and the exhibitions could vary with respect to content as well.
Per location a new topic could be added, for instance by developing a project specially for the location.
The exhibition Simply Droog, 10 years of avantgarde design from the Netherlands took place in the Museum of Arts and Design, New York, Grand Hornu (Belgium), Design Zentrum, Bremen (Germany), Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (NL), Haus Der Kunst, Munich (Germany), Mudac, Lausanne & Museum Bellerive in Zürich, Switzerland, Museo Oscar Niemeyer in Curitiba (Brazil).
