‘Superpatata’ Lamp by Hector Serrano

‘Superpatata’ Lamp, 2000

The lamp is a sea salt-filled latex balloon manipulated, squashed and squeezed into different forms and intensities of light. While playing, one can control the shape, the illumination and the purpose: it can be used as a pillow, a desk lamp or even an anti-stress. ‘Superpatata’ is soft and stretchy looking like a glowing colourful balloon stuffed with sand. The design of the lamp was inspired by a toy.
